Common description

Penang is an island in Malaysia, the area of which is 285 square kilometers, as well as the state of Malaysia, in addition to which the island is also a coastal strip of mainland Seberang Perai-Malay Peninsula. Both parts of the state are interconnected by a bridge.
The island of Penang is located in the Andaman Sea off the northwest coast of the Malay Peninsula. The island is covered by hills with lush vegetation. There is a preserved rainforest in the north. The highest point of the island is Mount Penang.


The wet equatorial climate with a fairly flat air temperature (+27 ... +32) and water (+25 ... + 30) for the year, a wet season lasts from April to May and October to November.
