Sarawak is one of the two states of East Malaysia, located on the northwest of the island of Borneo. Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia. Neighboring state on the island is Sabah. Sarawak borders with Indonesia and the Sultanate of Brunei.
Sarawak is washed by the South China Sea. The coastline is indented slightly - there are only two bays: Date - the west and Brunei - to the north. Along the coast stretches a low-lying alluvial plain of the sea.
