Common description

Republic of Singapore is the city-state located on the islands in Southeast Asia, separated from the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula by narrow Johor Strait. It shares borders with the Sultanate of Johor, which is part of Malaysia and Riau islands within Indonesia.
The first mention of Singapore appears in Chinese chronicles of III century. The island was a stronghold of the Srivijaya Empire, the center of Sumatra, and wore Javanese name Temasek. Temasek for some time been an important trading center, but later fell into decay. There is very little evidence about it except for some archaeological finds.

Singapore's climate is tropical monsoon - hot and humid, with no distinct dry and rainy seasons. Characterized by abrupt transitions from rain to bright sun. The weather throughout the year is mainly clear. Average daily temperature is 29-32 C. In order to withstand heat better wear light cotton clothing. We should not forget about the air-conditioning system, which is provided here in almost all the shops and office buildings: you will need a light sweater with long sleeves. Do not forget to bring an umbrella, because short rains are very typical.
